Coverage

Falcon 4.0, developed by MicroProse and published under the MicroProse label in 1998, simulates the Block 50/52 F-16 in a full-scale modern war on the Korean Peninsula. In its story North Korea invades the South in the early 1990s, the United States sends aircraft, armour and ships to support the South, and China and Russia may join in depending on the player’s actions. [1] It shipped with three campaigns: Tiger Spirit, in which South Korean and allied forces have repelled the first attack and gone on the offensive; Rolling Fire, in which the North has crossed the DMZ and made small gains; and Iron Fortress, in which the South has been pushed back to its last line of defence. [1]

Falcon 4.0: Allied Force, released by Lead Pursuit in 2005 and built on the original source code, kept the Korean battlefield, with NATO supporting South Korea in scenarios that can involve China supporting the North. [2] Development of the code continues in Falcon BMSFalcon BMS: Korea Sim mapFalcon 4.0's Korean Peninsula theatre, carried on by Falcon BMS: a modern war between North and South Korea.. [2]
